Wendy L. Freedman

Wendy Laurel Freedman has been described as one of the world’s most influential astronomers. She serves as the Crawford H. Greenewalt Director of the Observatories of the Carnegie Institution of Washington in Pasadena, Calif. She also has served as chair of the board of directors of the Giant Magellan Telescope project since its inception in 2003. She has been elected a member of the American Philosophical Society.

Here, by selecting her photo from among others interviewed, you can see her responding to a question about the "nature of time." She answers it and questions about the origins of the universe with lucid common sense.
