We grasp reality as body of connections and differentiations, as when we say "I get the picture." The picture is context and gives meaning to its parts. A word can take on a different shade of meaning in different contexts — and a different level of significance. If a robber holds a gun to your head and says I hope you give me your wallet, the context is more significant than the word "hope".
